Conch, pronounced "Konk",
is an island favorite and may be prepared in a number
of ways including conch salad, scorched conch, cracked
conch, and conch chowder. The Bahamians swear by the
aphrodisiac qualities of this island favorite. Make
sure you try it at least once during your island stay.
Spiny Lobster or "Crawfish", as it is called
in the islands, is another local dish. For a unique
cultural and dining experience, venture out to the Wednesday
night "Fish Fry" at Smith's Point.
